Summer Preparations

Dear Parents and Students,

Although the summer break has begun the school is a hive of activity as we prepare for the coming school year. Among other things, we are completely refurbishing our Home and Consumer Studies room, painting classrooms and also corridors and toilets.

We look forward to welcoming all of our students, new and old, on Thursday 17 August. More detailed information about the first days of school will be available shortly before this date.

I hope the summer is period of sunshine and relaxation for everyone.

Yours sincerely,

Mary Dahlin

Student Choice Week

Student Choice Week

The second installment of student choice week took place in warm and sunny May.  So it was a real treat to make the most of the wonderful outdoors for many of the activities.  There was ecology in tinnerö, volleyball at trädgårdsföreningen, rocket building on the school yard, painting at the cathedral,  hiking through vidingsjö, martial arts in the orchard plus many more engaging projects. The video below gives a quick snapshot of the student's work during this week.

Farewell to Year 9 at Graduation

Farewell to Year 9 at Graduation

Graduation is a joyous occasion but also a time of sadness as we say farewell to our year 9 students. The students have had a challenging yet rewarding year; studying hard, taking national tests, getting their grades, deciding their next steps and planning their future. We are immensely proud of their achievements and, of course, these were recognised at our graduation ceremony.

Students from year 6 - 9 processed from the school building towards Konsert and Kongress in formal attire, looking proud and smart. The ceremony began with an address from our principal Ms. Dahlin, followed by an inspiring speech from our student president, Asajad Hussein. We were also treated to musical performances from four year 9 students; Kim Jonsson, Isabelle Yammin, Nathalie Andersson and Elia Tellström, all of which, were fantastic.

Each year 9 class was called to the stage to receive their awards certificate and gain a rapturous applause from family, friends and peers.

The ceremony ended as Ms. Dahlin congratulated the class of 2017, followed by confetti, pyrotechnics and a rousing rendition of the school song. Once again, congratulations year 9 and the best of luck for your future ahead of you.

Spring Fair 2017

Spring Fair 2017

A beautiful spring day, games, food and exhibitions brought hundreds of people to visit IES Linköping on Saturday 21st May.  Each class provided a stall or some entertainment, and it was wonderful to see so many creative ideas and entrepreneurship.  The day was a huge success and created a buzzing, community spirit throughout the school.  Take a look at this video to gain more of an insight.

Student Work

Innovative Woodwork Designs

Innovative Woodwork Designs

This Spring term, year 9 were given a project with the following brief; 'to research, design and create a container or shelf'.  This broad instruction gave the students free reign to flex their creativity.  The end product had to be practical and useful whilst showing an eye for artistic design.  Here are some examples of the finished products, which will indeed be put to good use in their new home.
